Envision Montana was developed and run by the Wheeler student Fellows. Their task was to create a summer program which would bring together a group of emerging Montana leaders for focused and in-depth policy discussions about the future of Montana.
21 outstanding young Montanans immediately responded and the trip was filled to capacity, along with a waiting list. The group all were active participants during the entire week, with each person helping lead a discussion related to their profession. And because they were on a river and away from cell towers, no technology was available to distract the participants from what resulted in dawn to dusk discussions about real-world issues and solutions.
The Fellows are indebted to NorthWestern Energy, Don and Signe Farris of Bozeman, and anonymous donors, along with Holiday River Expeditions of Idaho, all of whom help make the trip a reality and affordable for the participants.
Trip members are all available to bring their thoughts and ideas to your group or organization for a discussion. Please let us know if you would like to schedule a visit with them at any time.

“Senator Wheeler knew full well that good policy doesn't come from one person. Doing what's right for Montana-and America-comes from sharing ideas and information, hearing from all sides, and working together. The Wheeler Center honors that vision. It's a valuable resource for our state.”
-- Montana's Senior Senator Jon Tester
